Cloud Virtualization
Learn about software-defined networking (SDN) and network function virtualization (NFV), how practical use of cloud services (VNFs and NFVs) is improving service deployment cadence/cost-effectiveness, and the operational challenges in managing virtualized services.
Customer Journey
An examination on the importance of having customer-facing proactive network monitoring and alerting, and empowering customers to order anything, anywhere, anytime. Topics will include moving an organization to a DevOps model for quicker services delivery, the effectiveness of NPS vs. eNPS in measuring satisfaction, sales-to-churn life cycle optimization/simplification and leveraging business intelligence (BI) to optimize operation.
Evolved Network – Wireline and Wireless
Track focusing on DOCSIS® 3.1 deployments, key challenges of GPON vs. EPON and solutions for improving latency, including DOCSIS®, xPON, Wi-Fi, 60GHz, LTE and potential 5G technologies. Discussions will include the benefits/challenges of distributed architectures, efficiencies in technologies for new build networks, QAM to IP video transition, fixed-mobile convergence and risk/reward of wireless resale vs. owned wireless infrastructure.
Future Services and Technologies
Focused discussion on Full Duplex DOCSIS® 3.1, and using next gen Wi-Fi (802.11ac/ax and ad) for whole-home multi-media coverage and optimal support for services such as HD video distribution and VoIP. Beyond the importance of leveraging existing coax and fiber infrastructure to accelerate into 5G wireless, participants will learn about next-gen video codecs, the potential of the Internet of Things (IoT), smart home and IoT business models, and IoT verticals–including telemedicine, remote learning and manufacturing.
Security and Authentication
An in-depth look at network security as a service (NSaaS) security and authentication, legacy infrastructures, next-gen distributed denial-of-service (DDoS), digital rights management, Internet of Things (IoT) security and threat intelligence, management and predictive analytics.
